Why hire a licensed contractor?

The State of Utah requires all contractors and subcontractors that perform services for the general public to acquire the proper licensing. Requirements for this include:

1. Demonstration of experience and knowledge of the particular trade licensed.

2. Understanding of the required business practices to meet state laws.

3. A showing of financial responsibility.

4. In addition, all licensed contractors pay into a fund specifically set aside to help victims of fraudulent practices.

What is a Certified Graduate Remodeler?

The Remodeler's Council of the National Association of Homebuilders, of which Icon Remodeling is a member, has developed a series of courses designed to enhance the ability of remodeling contractors to provide efficient, ethical service to the public. Both owners of Icon Remodeling have completed the necessary coursework to acquire Certified Graduate Remodeler Status.

Do I need to hire an architect first?

Probably not. Icon Remodeling is a full-service company with in-house designers, computer-aided drafting capabilities, and a knowledge of what works and doesn't work when it comes to remodeling. Most projects won't benefit from the added cost. Should your project require the services of an architect or engineer, we work with several excellent firms or individuals.

What are the advantages of the Design-Build concept?

The design-build approach to building brings together professional design and construction experience. One company handles both design and construction, which means you enjoy greater continuity of service. This joining of the design and construction functions also can save you time and money, and helps make you, the customer, more of a partner in the construction or remodeling of your home.

Do you do smaller jobs?

While some of our projects do run in excess of $500,000, we haven't forgotten about the everyday needs of our clients. Because our goal is to continue working with you over a lifetime of projects, we'll gladly come to to fix a water tap, paint a wall, or anything else. We're sure you'll like the quality of our craftsmanship, and think of us when a larger project is on the horizon.

Our policy is to arrange an initial consultation, where we will be happy to assist you with preliminary budget projections for the various aspects of your project.

Detailed cost estimates are performed only when the project design is complete.
